So it looks like every time I climb a tower or a hill in order to take some panoramic photos of the city I am visiting, the adhan magically starts. And I love it!
Today I was at the citadel in Amman, Jordan and I was taking photos at the views over the city, where the chant started. It is so interesting to compare the different it sounds according to different places.
Remember the Muslim prayer I recorded in Istanbul? Well this sounds completely different, and I must say it’s the most beautiful one I’ve heard so far. It really sounds like a song! Enjoy the video and the sound!

Great video! I agree – the Muslim call to prayer is always enchanting. I’ve got tons of audio of it in different locations in the Mid East. And it does sound different from location to location. The most “powerful” – for lack of a better word – that I’ve ever heard was in Sharjah, UAE, an ultra-rigid Islamic emirate where I lived for 3 months. No matter where you hear it, though, it will always let you know exactly where in the world you are :)
The night I arrived in Amman I woke up early morning to the prayer and it was one of the most beautiful memories I have from travel.
I LOVE waking up to the prayer!
