I totally bursted out into tears when my dear, dear friend Hazem gave me this present before I left to the airport.
It’s the Egyptian flag, but not a regular one. He got it in Tahrir Square on February 11th, the day when the former president/dictator of Egypt, Hosny Mubarak, resigned and the Revolution ended.
This is by far the best, sweetest and most unexpected present I could ever get and one of the most meaningful things I own.
How awesome can a friend be?
I don’t know how to thank you, ya Hazem, and here is my little post to try and do it.
What’s the most meaningful present you ever got?

What a moving gift. :)
indeed. <3
Wow. What an amazing gift!
So meaningful. Can’t stop thinking what this little flag “saw” that day! Witness of so much emotion!
Oh wow that is an amazing gift that brought tears to my eyes as well. I can imagine how you felt receiving that.
Thanks Jaime. I will let you wave this flag when we meet in Italy :)
That is so incredibly sweet. I can’t imagine a better gift and I have nothing that would ever compare to that.
Shaun gave me a box of 100 crayola crayons one day and left it on the bed for me to find. Still one of my fav gifts.
Well Crayola crayons are super sweet:) I love my little flag! Funny because I wanted to buy one, but I was lazy (again) – and then, just minutes before leaving Egypt, I got this one. “the special one” :)
Incredible!! what is ideal tag for this ??—“Gift of the Century”
I think so :)
